Rubbing a dog’s ear will instantly put him on cloud nine. A dog’s ears are a hotspot for nerve endings, and when activated, they send messages throughout the dog’s body while releasing endorphins. Endorphins are the body’s natural feel-good drug. A gentle, circular massage with two fingers (one behind the tip of the ear and one inside the ear at the tip) will do the trick. Fido will definitely feel the love!

Gaze Deeply Into Their Eyes
Dr, Brian Hare, professor of cognitive neuroscience at Duke University topped the NY Times bestseller list with his book, The Genius of Dogs. In an interview with Anderson Cooper last spring, he told the dog-loving reporter that when your dog stares at you, he’s “hugging you with his eyes.”
This doesn’t mean you should stare deep into the eyes of the dog guarding the local dump! Direct eye contact is still considered a challenge or threat in many situations. But with your own trusted pet, try to make eye contact when the two of you are calm.
Snuggle
Not all dogs like hugs, but most love to snuggle. Dogs are pack animals and close contact makes them feel safe and secure. Allowing your pooch to sleep with you is the ultimate show of trust and since affection is when you are most vulnerable.
However, even if you prefer to keep your bed dog-free, you can still create an opportunity every day to tell your dog you love him by cuddling on the sofa or in a cozy corner with him on the floor . They will definitely get your message.
PAW-sitive reinforcement
Dogs thrive on routines and expectations, and every puppy wants to be a good boy or girl. During dog training, praising and making it clear when your dog is doing what you want and expect will reinforce good behavior and strengthen the bond between you.
Your best friend wants to please you and he will definitely pick up on your feelings and tone in response to his behavior.
They want to share their toys with you
Sharing toys is another way dogs express love. If a dog really loves you, he will often bring you his favorite toy. This is their way of showing that they care.
